Flood victims staged a protest at the Gaighat block headquarters in Muzaffarpur on Wednesday, expressing their anger over the non-receipt of flood relief assistance. Dozens of women from Jamalpur Kodai, Kanta Pirauncha Uttari, and Balournidhi panchayats alleged severe irregularities in the distribution process, stating that despite being affected by floods, they have not yet received the promised aid.

The victims claimed that while multiple members of the same families received aid in their bank accounts, many genuinely affected families are still waiting. Individuals like Ali Imam, Mohd. Naushad, Mohd. Ishrar Ahmed, Majir Ahmed, Sant Kabir, Sunil Ram, Mohd. Rustam, Mohd. Shoeb, Istaba Hasan, Sushila Devi, Gulnaz Khatoon, and Sanvli Devi from Kanta Pirauncha Uttari panchayat, along with several women from Balournidhi and Jamalpur Kodai panchayats, voiced their grievances.

Upon reaching the Anchal office with their complaints, the victims found the Circle Officer's office closed, and employees refused to address their concerns. The agitated victims have warned that if the relief amount is not credited to their accounts soon, all deprived families will stage a protest demonstration in front of the Anchal office after Dussehra.
