Three girls, who had gone to bathe in the Sone River for Somwari fast, drowned while taking selfies in deep water near Pachadumar village in Ketar police station area of Garhwa district on Monday morning. Villagers promptly rescued one girl, but the other two were swept away by the strong current and depth of the river and are still missing. Search operations are ongoing.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a large number of villagers gathered at the spot, creating a chaotic atmosphere along the riverbank. Villagers initiated their own search efforts for the missing girls, scouring different parts of the river. Local residents reported that the strong current and significant depth of the river are hindering the search operations.

The police have also been informed about the incident and are gathering information. This tragic incident occurred on the occasion of Somwari fast, when the girls were engrossed in bathing and taking selfies, inadvertently moving towards deeper waters, leading to the accident.
