Dr. Alok Kumar Suman, Member of Parliament from Gopalganj constituency, met with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi to discuss the expansion of rail facilities and resolution of passenger issues in his area. During the meeting, he submitted a detailed memorandum outlining demands for rail development, enhancement of passenger amenities, and permanent solutions to railway infrastructure-related problems, requesting prompt action.

The MP prominently raised the issue of waterlogging in various railway underpasses during the monsoon season. He highlighted that water accumulation causes significant inconvenience to common people, students, farmers, and businessmen, affecting their commute. He noted that two-wheelers and four-wheelers often get stuck in these underpasses, increasing the risk of accidents. He demanded technical inspection of all underpasses and implementation of permanent drainage systems.

Furthermore, the MP requested the resumption of the Sabarmati Express, which previously operated from Thawe Junction. He also proposed the introduction of direct trains to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (Mumbai), Bengaluru, Chennai, Howrah, and Puri, along with daily operation of the Amrit Bharat Express. He emphasized that fulfilling these demands would provide better rail connectivity for millions of people in Gopalganj and surrounding areas for education, employment, business, medical needs, and religious pilgrimages, thereby accelerating the region's economic development. The Railway Minister assured positive action on these demands.
