Police in Gopalganj district, Bihar, have arrested two youths in possession of illegal weapons. The operation, conducted in the Hathua police station area, led to the recovery of a country-made pistol, three live cartridges, a Splendor motorcycle, and three mobile phones. The arrested individuals have been identified as Golu Kumar, a resident of Kodrahata village under Mirganj police station, and Priyanshu Kumar Pandey, a resident of Chainpur village under Hathua police station. Police have identified Priyanshu Kumar Pandey as a minor.

Hathua SDPO Rajesh Kumar stated that police received confidential information about two individuals on a motorcycle carrying illegal weapons from Kodrahata village towards Chainpur. Acting on the tip-off, a police team set up a blockade on the road in front of Rameshwar Pandey's house in Chainpur village. When the suspicious motorcycle was signaled to stop, the riders attempted to flee but lost control and fell. Police personnel then apprehended both individuals.

During the search, a country-made pistol, three live cartridges, and a mobile phone were recovered from Golu Kumar. Another mobile phone was found with the second youth. The Splendor motorcycle used in the illegal activity has also been seized.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at Hathua police station, and further legal action is underway. Police are currently investigating the source of these weapons and whether any other individuals are involved in this network. Authorities are also working to uncover any potential network involved in the purchase and sale of illegal firearms. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
