In Govindpur's Upper Bazar, three shops were targeted by thieves late on Tuesday night, with an attempt made to burgle a fourth. According to reports, thieves entered Sudhir Lal Modi's shop via the roof, making off with cashew nuts, raisins, and cash from the till. Rajesh Kumar's sweet shop also saw approximately two thousand rupees in cash and sweets stolen. Ashish Bhadani's shop reported the theft of sweets and a mobile phone.

An attempt was also made to break into Ajay Kumar's slipper shop, but the thieves were unsuccessful. A broken asbestos sheet and a hammer were found near Sudhir Lal's shop, suggesting the entry method. Upon receiving the information, Govindpur Station House Officer Vijay Kumar, ASI Brijkishore Sah, and police personnel arrived at the scene to investigate. The SHO stated that no formal application has been filed by the shopkeepers yet, but an FIR will be registered once received.

Police reviewed CCTV footage from the affected shops, but nothing clear was visible. They are now examining footage from other nearby shops. A minor was seen on a CCTV camera at Rajesh Saw's PNB Bank CSP around 1:36 AM, but their face was not clear. The CCTV footage also captured images of a police patrol team around 12 AM and 2 AM on Tuesday night.
