A crucial road bridge connecting the villages of Mahua, Sakarpura, Dudhail, Dumra, Aura, and Devra in Hasanpur block has fallen into a dilapidated state due to a lack of maintenance for 20 years since its construction. The bridge, built over the Hahiya Nala, is now at risk of collapse, raising fears of a major accident.

According to local residents, this bridge, located between Sakarpura railway crossing and Dhobiya Pokhar, was constructed approximately two decades ago. Since its construction, it has not undergone any maintenance, resulting in the complete collapse of its railings and damage to its surface. During the rainy season, the bridge becomes waterlogged, making commuting even more difficult.

Due to the poor condition of the bridge, four-wheel vehicle drivers are forced to take alternative routes. They fear that a vehicle could lose balance and fall below the bridge at any moment. Residents of the area have been demanding the renovation or reconstruction of this bridge for several years, but no action has been taken so far.

It is also reported that several other old bridges in the block are in a dilapidated condition. However, at some locations like Mahua, Aura, Chanderpur, Vaida, and Phulhara, old bridges have been demolished and new ones constructed. But no attention has been given to the Hahiya Nala bridge on the road to Dudhail and the bridge near Mahua village on the road to Sapri. Similarly, the old bridge connecting Sakarpura and Ranichak, built decades ago over the now-defunct Chandrabhaga River, is also in a very poor state. Local residents have appealed to public representatives and departmental officials to take immediate action on this serious problem.
