The demand for expanding rail facilities and halting express trains at Hathua Junction in Gopalganj district has intensified once again. Dr. Alok Kumar Suman, MP from Gopalganj, has taken the initiative by writing a letter to Ashish Jain, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Varanasi Division, North Eastern Railway. The letter, sent on November 1st, highlights major rail issues in the region and demands their resolution. Copies of the letter have also been sent to the Railway Board and the General Manager of North Eastern Railway.

The MP has proposed the introduction of a regular train service from Hathua Junction to Patna. Additionally, he has demanded the extension of the Pachdeori-Hathua railway section to Bhatni. He urged for the allocation of necessary funds for both these projects in the upcoming railway budget.

The letter also calls for ensuring the halt of Tata Express (18181-18182), Amrit Bharat Express (15133-15134), and Chhapra-Amritsar Express (15135-15136) at Hathua Junction. The MP stated that these stops would greatly benefit passengers from Hathua, Mirganj, and surrounding areas.

Considering passenger convenience, the MP suggested changing the operational timings of Gorakhpur-Siwan Passenger trains to run an hour earlier. Furthermore, demands include altering the schedule of the Thawe-Siwan train and introducing regular DEMU (Diesel Electric Multiple Unit) services between Siwan and Gopalganj in the mornings and evenings. He also raised the issue of ensuring halts for all express trains passing through Hathua Junction in the future.

Separately, the Nagarik Adhikar Manch (Hathua Junction) had also submitted a memorandum to the MP, informing him about the region's rail problems and their eight-year-long agitation. The Manch welcomed the MP's initiative and expressed hope that the Ministry of Railways would seriously consider these demands and soon approve enhanced facilities, including express train halts, at Hathua Junction.
