Hussainabad: Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary, observed as National Unity Day, was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm in Hussainabad on Saturday. A floral tribute was paid to Sardar Patel's statue at Patel Chowk in the Nagar Panchayat area, where heartfelt homage was offered. Attendees pledged to uphold the unity, integrity, and social harmony of the nation.

Former Nagar Panchayat chairperson Usha Devi and former chairman Shashi Kumar Paswan, along with other dignitaries, laid flowers at the statue. Speakers recalled Sardar Patel's ideals and his thoughts on national interest, emphasizing his unforgettable contribution to Indian history. They highlighted his pivotal role in integrating hundreds of princely states into the Indian Union after independence, a task he accomplished with unwavering determination, foresight, and skillful leadership, earning him the title 'Iron Man'.

Similarly, at the Government Middle School Kishunpur, Sardar Patel's birth anniversary was celebrated as National Unity Day under the leadership of Headmistress Reena Dubey. Kishunpur Panchayat head Suman Gupta attended as the chief guest. Teachers, students, and other attendees pledged to maintain the unity, integrity, and security of the country. Suman Gupta stated that Sardar Patel's thoughts and ideals continue to be a source of inspiration, and National Unity Day conveys the message of upholding national unity and integrity, transcending discrimination based on caste, religion, and language.
