आश्चर्य की बात यह है कि अवैध बालू की ढुलाई भी दिनदहाड़े की जा रही है। बालू से लदे ट्रैक्टरों को तिरपाल से ढंककर मुख्य सड़कों से गुजारा जा रहा है ताकि किसी को शक न हो। यह सब तब हो रहा है जब जिले में अवैध खनन के खिलाफ लगातार अभियान चलाने और कार्रवाई करने के दावे किए जाते हैं। स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि अवैध खनन के कारण नदी का पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र खतरे में है और नदी के किनारों का कटाव भी बढ़ रहा है।
