Jamalpur's Kali Pahad Canal, located in Munger district, which was once known for its dilapidated condition, is set to receive a new identity before the Chhath Mahaparv. The local administration is rapidly undertaking beautification and renovation work on this canal, aiming to transform it into an attractive spot for Chhath devotees and local residents.

The Kali Pahad Canal has a long history and has been an important water source for the Jamalpur region. However, due to years of neglect, its condition had deteriorated significantly. Accumulation of silt, damaged banks, and heaps of garbage not only obstructed water flow but also polluted the surrounding environment. During Chhath, devotees faced considerable difficulties offering prayers here.

Now, in view of the Chhath Mahaparv, the administration has taken up the task of rejuvenating this canal. Cleaning the canal, desilting, and repairing the banks are being carried out on a war footing. Additionally, there are plans to increase greenery around the canal and provide proper seating arrangements, so that it can also develop into a picnic spot. This initiative will not only facilitate Chhath devotees but also provide Jamalpur residents with a clean and beautiful public space.

Local residents have welcomed this step by the administration. They believe that this renovation will re-establish the importance of the canal and contribute to the region's development.
