Jamalpur's traffic management system is in disarray, leading to daily, hours-long traffic jams on key routes like Albert Road, Jubilee Bell Chowk, Station Road, and Sadar Bazar. Local residents allege that police activity is only visible during VIP movements. According to them, whenever a DIG or other senior officer's convoy passes through the city, police clear Albert Road and Jubilee Bell Chowk beforehand. During such times, auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws are removed, encroachments are cleared, and traffic flows smoothly. However, as soon as the VIPs depart, the situation reverts to its original state, leaving common citizens to contend with daily congestion.

Despite a ban on heavy vehicle entry in Jamalpur from 9 AM to 9 PM, trucks and dumpers operate fearlessly within the city. Auto drivers at Jubilee Bell Chowk and Station Road pick up and drop off passengers in the middle of the road, obstructing traffic. Furthermore, increasing encroachment on Albert Road has narrowed the road, exacerbating the traffic problem. On Tuesday, during school dismissal hours, railway employees, shopkeepers, schoolchildren, and other commuters were stuck in traffic for extended periods. Residents have appealed to Superintendent of Police Syed Imran Masood to strictly enforce the no-entry rule, designate specific stands for auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws, take action against illegal parking, and implement special traffic arrangements during school dismissal times to alleviate the daily struggles of the public.
