Priyanka Kumari and her husband Chandan Rawat, residents of Guguldihi, Jamui, have established a thread factory in their home district after working outside for 25 years, providing employment to 15 families. Chandan Rawat worked for several large companies across the country for nearly 25 years, during which he learned the intricacies of thread manufacturing. His dream was to ensure that people from his district wouldn't have to leave for employment.

With this vision, he returned to Jamui and planned to set up his own factory. However, lack of capital became a major hurdle. Chandan made significant efforts to secure a bank loan but was unsuccessful. Undeterred, he gathered capital from relatives and laid the foundation of a thread factory in a small shed in Neemarang, a locality in Jamui city. Today, this factory operates with fully automatic machines, handling everything from dyeing, drying, polishing, to rolling the thread. After this, manual labeling and packing are done.

The quality of the thread produced by this factory is so high that orders are coming from states like Maharashtra and West Bengal. Their thread is also supplied to almost all districts of Bihar. Interestingly, the same company where Chandan previously worked is now purchasing thread from his factory. This story is not only an excellent example of self-reliance but also presents a successful model for local job creation.
