The Indian Medical Association (IMA) in Jamui has called for a one-day strike on Wednesday. This strike is in protest against the district administration's actions following the deaths of two pregnant women at Sadar Hospital and the sealing of a private clinic. As a result, all private clinics and hospitals in the district will remain closed.

A delegation from the IMA met with Civil Surgeon Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh to submit a memorandum regarding the strike. The primary reason for the protest is the sealing of Dr. Shalini's private clinic. The district administration had raided Dr. Shalini's clinic after the death of a pregnant woman and sealed it due to a lack of registration.

Dr. Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, District President of the IMA, deemed the action inappropriate. He claimed that according to new regulations, if a deficiency in registration is found in an MBBS doctor's private clinic, a notice should first be issued, followed by a financial penalty. Only after two financial penalties and continued non-registration should the clinic be sealed. Dr. Prasad alleged that the district administration hastily sealed the clinic without following these procedures.

However, the IMA has clarified that government health services will be exempt from the strike. Doctors will not strike at Sadar Hospital or any other government hospital to ensure patients do not face inconvenience and that their treatment continues normally.

Dr. Thakur Omprakash, an IMA physician, stated that the incident at Sadar Hospital has no connection to any doctor's private life. He argued that if there was negligence at Sadar Hospital, action could have been taken against the concerned doctor at the hospital level, but such action against a private clinic is not justified. Civil Surgeon Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh also confirmed receiving the memorandum from the IMA regarding the closure of private clinics.
