A significant change has been observed at Jamui Sadar Hospital regarding the delivery of pregnant women suffering from serious infections. Now, pregnant women infected with Hepatitis, HIV, or other severe infections will be able to deliver at Sadar Hospital itself, under necessary safety and infection control protocols. This is expected to reduce the need to refer such pregnant women to Patna for delivery.

DS Dr. Thanish Kumar stated that for the first time, a medical team at Sadar Hospital successfully conducted a safe delivery for an HIV-positive pregnant woman, adhering to established infection control standards. Both the mother and baby are reported to be healthy after the delivery and are receiving necessary care under the supervision of doctors and healthcare workers.

Previously, pregnant women with HIV or other serious infections were referred to Patna for better treatment, considering the potential risks of infection and the availability of necessary resources. This meant patients and their families had to travel long distances. Now, Sadar Hospital has ensured the availability of necessary safety arrangements and resources for infection control. The medical team has been trained to conduct deliveries according to prescribed protocols. During the delivery on Friday, the team followed safety standards and completed the procedure with full caution.

The availability of such facilities at Sadar Hospital will provide local treatment and delivery services for pregnant women suffering from serious infections.
