A new turn has emerged in the suspicious death case of Neha, a married woman, in the Jhajha police station area of Jamui. Her husband, Abhimanyu, who has been facing murder allegations, has for the first time come forward to defend himself. Meanwhile, Neha's paternal family has reiterated their accusation that Abhimanyu and his in-laws murdered her and disposed of her body near the railway line. The police are conducting a thorough investigation based on the claims of both parties and available evidence.

Neha's body was recovered on July 23 near the Bhavarwa Bridge, beside a railway line, within the Jhajha police station area. Following the incident, her paternal family accused her husband and in-laws of murder.

Abhimanyu, who works as an RO repairman, stated that due to his work, he often returned home late at night. According to him, on the night of the incident, he was also returning late. Neha called him to ask about the delay, and he even had her speak to his shop owner to confirm his presence. Despite this, Neha was upset upon his arrival and left the house in anger shortly after. Abhimanyu claims he followed her to persuade and search for her. CCTV footage, widely circulated on social media, shows Neha walking alone on the road around midnight. In the footage, she is seen hitting a black dog with a stone to scare it away before continuing. A short while later, a motorcycle is seen passing along the same route, with Abhimanyu and his mother searching for Neha.

Abhimanyu stated that when Neha could not be found after extensive searching, he thought she might have gone to her parental home, which is only five kilometers away, and would return by morning. However, he received news of her body being found near the railway line in the morning. He has vehemently denied the accusations of killing his wife. He also claimed that due to his late returns, Neha often suspected him of having an affair with another woman. He asserted that he is the only son in his family and the question of killing his wife does not arise.

On the other hand, Neha's grandfather, Rajendra Rawat, has filed an application at Jhajha police station, accusing Abhimanyu, his parents, and other in-laws of murder. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police arrested Abhimanyu during the preparations for the cremation at Katara River Ghat. After a medical examination, he was sent to judicial custody. Currently, the police are investigating every aspect by cross-referencing viral CCTV footage, post-mortem reports, forensic evidence, and statements from both parties. The actual cause of Neha's death will only become clear after the investigation is complete.
