Gaya: Bihar has been under complete prohibition since 2016, leading to regular seizures and destruction of alcohol. Amidst this, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has made a significant statement regarding the state's liquor ban. He suggested that instead of destroying seized alcohol, it should be utilized to produce useful materials like sanitizers or other relevant products. Manjhi emphasized that if technically and legally feasible, the Bihar government should consider converting confiscated liquor into usable items, preventing its waste.

The Union Minister celebrated his 82nd birthday in his ancestral village of Mahkar, Gaya. The celebration included cake cutting and tree plantation. Becoming emotional while remembering his parents, Manjhi remarked that he had never imagined becoming a Chief Minister or a Union Minister, attributing his achievements to the blessings of his ancestors.

During the event, Jitan Ram Manjhi also criticized those demanding the resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar, calling them 'baseless' and driven by political motives. He also addressed the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), stating that it should be viewed from a beneficial perspective. Manjhi expressed his desire for the UCC to be implemented in every state and urged against creating confusion around it. He clarified that the SIR (voter list verification) process aims to verify the voter list, not remove names, and should also facilitate the inclusion of eligible individuals.
