Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi became agitated when questioned by journalists about the Raghopur boat accident and the deaths it caused, following the inauguration of a hospital in Gaya on Friday. Instead of directly answering, he retorted, "Today you people are singing songs of a khurpa at a sickle's wedding. This is your way; one should not say the same thing everywhere. If I speak politically here, many people might have problems." However, he later termed the incident tragic and stated that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances under which the boat operated despite services being suspended. He added that both central and state governments are involved in relief and rescue operations.

Responding to questions about opposition movements and the country's atmosphere, Manjhi claimed that India is now the world's fourth-largest economy and is set to become the third-largest by 2029. He also highlighted the success of the Chandrayaan mission and India's growing stature on the global stage.

The Union Minister alleged that neighboring countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan, along with other major foreign powers, are jealous of India's progress and wish to maintain instability in the country. He claimed that these elements are instigating baseless movements in India at the behest of these foreign powers. Manjhi also accused opponents of mocking constitutional institutions like the President, Election Commission, and Supreme Court, and attempting to destabilize the nation. He asserted that these movements lack any real issues and are entirely inspired by external forces.
