Authorities in Kahalgaon, Bhagalpur, are intensifying security preparations for the upcoming Kali Puja and Chhath festivals to ensure their peaceful conduct. A crucial peace committee meeting was held on Tuesday at the police station premises, chaired by Station House Officer Mrityunjay Kumar. The Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), along with members of puja committees and prominent citizens, attended the meeting.

The SDO urged everyone to celebrate Kali Puja and Chhath with the same spirit of brotherhood and harmony as Durga Puja. He emphasized maintaining peace during the festivals and strictly adhering to administrative guidelines. To ensure better coordination among puja committees, the administration has decided to create a WhatsApp group for all committees. This group will facilitate the sharing of essential information and instructions, enabling quick resolution of any issues.

Several key decisions were made to enhance security and crowd management during the festivities. Parking arrangements will be made at both ends of Kahalgaon town, and large and small vehicles will not be permitted to enter the city. At the Ganga ghats, adequate lighting, medical camps, and a control room will be set up for the convenience and safety of devotees. A State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team will be deployed at the ghats to handle emergencies. Additionally, the entire area will be monitored continuously via CCTV cameras. The administration has appealed to all puja committees to cooperate in maintaining order and prioritize the convenience and safety of devotees.
