In Kaimur district, police at the Mohania checkpost have seized 682 liters of illicit liquor valued at approximately 11 lakh rupees. Acting on a tip-off, two alleged smugglers were also arrested during the operation. Checkpost in-charge Santosh Kumar Srivastava stated that the police had received confidential information regarding illegal liquor trafficking in the area.

Following the intelligence, a team led by Sub-Inspector Dharmlata was formed. The team intercepted two suspicious cars near Kulhadiya More. One of the drivers, Deepak Kumar, attempted to flee but lost control of his vehicle, which then fell into a ditch and was damaged. Police quickly surrounded and apprehended Deepak Kumar. Simultaneously, the driver of the second car, Sombir Kumar, was also arrested on the spot.

A search of both vehicles revealed a total of 682 liters of illegal liquor. According to the police, the seized liquor has a market value estimated between 9 to 11 lakh rupees. Initial interrogation revealed that both arrested individuals are residents of Haryana. They were allegedly transporting the liquor consignment through Mohania en route to Sasaram. The police have registered a case against both accused, and further investigations are underway to identify other individuals involved in this smuggling network.
