Kaimur Hosts Two-Day Agricultural Mechanization Fair, Farmers Receive 40-80% Subsidy on Modern Equipment
A two-day agricultural mechanization fair was organized on Thursday at the Joint Agriculture Department campus in Bhabua, Kaimur district. Farmers from various parts of the district attended the fair and purchased modern agricultural equipment, benefiting from government subsidy schemes. The fair was inaugurated by the Kaimur District Magistrate, who addressed the farmers, emphasizing that the government is providing subsidies on various agricultural implements. He stated that using these modern tools would save time and reduce cultivation costs, thereby increasing farmers' income.
The District Magistrate urged farmers not to burn stubble, explaining that it harms soil fertility and pollutes the environment. He advised them to use crop residue management equipment to convert stubble into fodder and sell it in the market for additional income.
Around 34 types of agricultural machinery were showcased at the fair, with government subsidies ranging from 40 to 80 percent. According to departmental information, approximately three dozen farmers purchased agricultural equipment worth over 35 lakh rupees at subsidized rates. The Zero Tillage machine for wheat sowing and the Straw Reaper machine for fodder making were particularly popular among farmers. Experts encouraged and educated farmers on the effective use of these machines.
