A 19-year-old married woman, Chanchal Kumari, died under suspicious circumstances in Pahadiya village, Bhagwanpur police station area, Kaimur district. Her body was found lying on the floor of her in-laws' house. Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene, took the body into custody, sent it for post-mortem examination to the Sadar Hospital, and initiated an investigation.

According to the deceased's brother-in-law, Dhiraj Paswan, Chanchal was a resident of Rafiganj in Aurangabad district. Her father's name is Ramji Paswan. Family members stated that Chanchal and Amit Kumar met through Instagram and developed a romantic relationship, leading to their marriage in June 2025.

The victim's maternal family has alleged that shortly after the marriage, Chanchal was being harassed by her in-laws for dowry. They have accused the in-laws of poisoning Chanchal to death. When the maternal family reached Pahadiya village, they found Chanchal's body on the floor inside the house, after which they informed the police.

However, the actual cause of Chanchal's death is yet to be ascertained. Police stated that the correct reason for her death would only be clear after the post-mortem report is received. The police are thoroughly investigating the matter based on the statements and complaints of the family members. They are trying to determine the circumstances of the married woman's death and the veracity of the allegations of dowry harassment and poisoning. Further legal action will be taken based on the facts and evidence that emerge during the investigation.
