A ray of hope for development has emerged in the Sona-Sati Mai locality of Ward No. 11, Kamargama Kishanpur, under Harnahiya Panchayat in Bathnaha block of Sitamarhi district. Following the initiative of MP Devesh Chandra Thakur, District Magistrate Tanay Sultania dispatched an administrative team to visit the settlement within 24 hours. This locality is predominantly inhabited by the Mahadalit community and lacked basic facilities such as drinking water, public toilets, and electricity.

Upon learning about the settlement's problems, the MP immediately contacted the District Magistrate and requested the deployment of an administrative team. The District Magistrate responded promptly, sending officials from the Electricity Department and the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) along with the Panchayat Mukhiya to the site. The team inspected the settlement and submitted a report to the DM. The report indicated that residents of both Mahadalit localities, situated on either side of the road, had not yet applied for electricity connections.

The District Magistrate has assured the MP that the Electricity Department will soon organize a camp in the village to collect applications for electricity connections, after which the connection process will commence. Regarding the drinking water issue, PHED has promised to install two hand pumps the very next day. Furthermore, the Circle Officer (CO) has stated that land deeds will be distributed to the residents of the settlement by November 20 under 'Operation Basera'. This initiative by the MP has significantly raised hopes for development among the community.
