In Kanhil village, under the Forbesganj subdivision of Araria district, the administration has successfully removed an illegal encroachment from land belonging to the Water Resources Department's 'aahar' (an ancient irrigation canal/reservoir). During the operation on Tuesday, an illegally constructed house was demolished using a bulldozer. The action was carried out peacefully in the presence of the Circle Officer and police administration.

According to reports, some individuals had illegally encroached upon the Water Resources Department's aahar land in Kanhil village and constructed a house. The department had been receiving continuous complaints regarding this and had issued several notices for the removal of the encroachment. However, the encroachers failed to comply with the notices, prompting the administration to take decisive action.

On Tuesday morning, the Circle Officer of Forbesganj circle, along with local police forces, arrived at Kanhil village. A significant number of police personnel were deployed to prevent any untoward incidents. The administrative team first offered the encroachers a final opportunity to remove the encroachment themselves. When they did not comply, the process of demolishing the illegal house with the help of a bulldozer commenced.

During the operation, a crowd of local residents gathered, but due to the vigilance of the police, no protests occurred. The administration has sent a clear message that no illegal encroachment on government land will be tolerated, and all such encroachments will be strictly removed. This action also indicates the administration's seriousness in protecting water sources and government land. It is hoped that this campaign will encourage other encroachers to voluntarily remove their illegal constructions.
