MUZAFFARPUR: The Kanti Circle Office is under scrutiny regarding a land registration and mutation case involving Belasand MLA Amit Kumar Ranu and his brother. The case pertains to a 35 lakh rupee land deal where the office's actions are being questioned.

Despite two formal requests from the Brahmpura Police Station, the Kanti Circle Office has failed to provide documents related to the mutation (Dakhil-Kharij) of the land. This lack of cooperation is significantly hindering the police investigation. The roles of the Circle Officer (CO) and Revenue Officer (RO) of Kanti are also being investigated.

Vipin Ranjan, Brahmpura Station House Officer and Investigating Officer, stated that the police are seeking to understand the basis on which the land was transferred and mutated in the name of the MLA's mother, especially since a previous mutation application for the same land was rejected. The police aim to examine the documents related to this process. The delay in providing reports, despite repeated requests, raises serious questions about the functioning of the Circle Office.

SSP Kantesh Kumar Mishra has also noted the indifference shown by the Circle Office in providing the necessary reports. The core of the police investigation revolves around understanding how the mutation was approved for a second party when a previous application for the same land was dismissed. According to SHO Ranjan, the mutation was carried out despite knowledge of the land's previous deed and mutation process. The police are actively investigating the roles of the CO and RO, but the lack of documentation from the Circle Office is preventing the verification of facts.
