A Panchayat Samiti meeting was held on Wednesday in the Kargahar block auditorium of Rohtas district, chaired by Block Chief Rinki Devi. The meeting saw the participation of Mukhiyas, Panchayat Samiti members from various panchayats, and officials from several departments. The primary agenda was to review development schemes and discuss important public interest proposals.

During the meeting, public representatives prominently demanded the construction of a community toilet in Kargahar market. They highlighted that a large number of people frequent the market daily, but the lack of public toilet facilities causes significant inconvenience.

A demand was also raised to promptly provide land to 135 landless beneficiaries across various panchayats under the 'Basera to Zero' scheme. Members emphasized that these families would only be able to avail benefits from schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana after receiving land.

Discussions also focused on completing the renovation work of the Bilaspur village pond under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali campaign. To facilitate this, a request was made to provide alternative land for the rehabilitation of families residing on the pond's land, ensuring that development work is not hindered.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed the pending payments for works previously carried out under MNREGA (now G-Ramji), urging for their swift completion. Emphasis was also placed on selecting new schemes to accelerate development work in villages. Detailed discussions also took place regarding the selection of new schemes under the 16th Finance Commission and their entry into the Bhoomi portal.

Several officials and public representatives, including Deputy Chief Dharmsheela Devi, BDO Ajit Kumar, CO Pankaj Kumar Singh, BEO Manoj Kumar Ram, PO MNREGA Shailendra Kumar Singh, CDPO Ratna Kumari, and JE Electricity Pankaj Kumar, were present at the meeting.
