In a significant operation, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) team in Katihar district has arrested a couple on charges of smack smuggling. A substantial quantity of smack and cash was recovered from their possession. According to information received, the NCB team had received a tip-off about large-scale smack smuggling in Katihar. Acting on this intelligence, the team promptly conducted a raid.

During the raid, the team recovered 203 grams of smack, estimated to be worth millions in the international market. Additionally, ₹2.06 lakh in cash was seized from the smugglers, believed to be proceeds from the illegal trade. The arrested couple is said to have been involved in this illicit business for a long time. Police are interrogating them to gather information about other members of this gang and their network.

Drug trafficking is becoming a serious problem in Katihar district, with the youth particularly affected. This arrest is being seen as a major success for the NCB, which will help curb the growing drug trade in the district. The police administration has also appealed to the public to immediately report any suspicious activity or information related to drug trafficking to the police so that strict action can be taken against such anti-social elements.
