In a shocking incident from Katihar district, Bihar, two youths were brutally tied to a tree and beaten by a mob on allegations of theft. A video of the incident, showing the crowd taking the law into their own hands, has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage. The incident occurred in the Salmari police station area, just a short distance from the police station itself, raising concerns about local law and order.

The youths were accused of being involved in theft incidents in the area, which reportedly angered local residents. Instead of reporting the matter to the police, the mob decided to administer their own form of justice. Following the viral video, Katihar police took suo motu cognizance of the incident and registered an FIR at Salmari police station.

Police have identified two of the alleged perpetrators involved in the beating as Mohammad Abdullah and Danish (27, son of Anwar, resident of Panchgachhi, Ballia Bailon police station area). Raids are currently underway to apprehend these individuals. As of now, neither the victims nor the accused have issued any official statements regarding the incident. Authorities have assured that all those responsible will be arrested and face legal action.
