Another incident of chain snatching has been reported in Katihar city. On Tuesday night, near the G.Soph Factory in the Nagar police station area, two bike-borne miscreants snatched a gold chain from railway employee Ujjwal Kundu and fled. The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 11, around 9:30 PM. Ujjwal Kundu was returning home with his wife after worshiping at the Yagyashala Temple when two youths on a motorcycle approached from behind and snatched the gold chain from his neck.

According to the victim, Ujjwal Kundu, the snatching happened so quickly that he didn't get a chance to react. One of the miscreants was wearing a helmet, while the other had covered his face with a 'gamcha' (a traditional cloth). After snatching the chain, both fled rapidly on their motorcycle. Following the incident, the victim raised an alarm, gathering people from the vicinity.

Upon receiving information, Nagar Police Station personnel arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Police are currently scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the culprits. A case has been registered against unknown miscreants, and efforts are underway to apprehend them.

Nagar Police Station SHO Kundan Kumar Singh has urged residents to avoid wearing jewelry alone on deserted roads. He advised people to immediately inform the police if they spot any suspicious bike riders. The police have stated that patrolling in the area will be increased, and vigilance will be maintained on suspicious individuals.
