On the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, markets in Katoria, Suiya, Radhanagar, and surrounding areas witnessed a massive rush of shoppers on Friday. People thronged shops selling utensils, brooms, gold, silver, mobile phones, and electronics. Utensil and broom shops saw the highest footfall.

The automobile sector also recorded significant sales, with approximately 700 two-wheelers and electric vehicles sold across major showrooms including Hero, Honda, and TVS. However, due to the rising prices of gold and silver, their sales were comparatively lower than previous years.

Heavy traffic jams were observed in the markets throughout the day due to the festive shopping. Police officials and patrol teams were actively engaged in managing traffic and ensuring security. SDPO Ravindra Mohan Prasad, Inspector Ranjit Kumar, and Station House Officer Srikant Bharti personally inspected the markets to oversee the arrangements, highlighting the administration's preparedness for crowd management and safety during the festival.
