सहरसा जिले के महिषी प्रखंड में कोसी नदी का कटान एक बार फिर तेज हो गया है, जिससे क्षेत्र के लोग दहशत में हैं। नदी का जलस्तर बढ़ने के साथ ही कटाव ने रौद्र रूप धारण कर लिया है, खासकर कुन्दह पंचायत के निचले इलाकों में स्थिति गंभीर बनी हुई है। ग्रामीणों की शिकायत पर, स्थानीय विधायक ने मंगलवार को कुन्दह क्षेत्र का दौरा किया और स्थिति का जायजा लिया।
विधायक ने कटाव प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में जाकर लोगों से बातचीत की और उनकी समस्याओं को सुना। उन्होंने बताया कि कोसी नदी की कटान से कई एकड़ उपजाऊ भूमि नदी में समा चुकी है, और अब रिहायशी इलाकों की ओर भी खतरा मंडरा रहा है। कई घर और खेत नदी के लगातार बढ़ते कटाव के कारण तबाह होने की कगार पर हैं। ग्रामीणों ने विधायक से जल्द से जल्द कटाव निरोधक कार्य शुरू करने की मांग की।
विधायक ने मौके पर मौजूद जल संसाधन विभाग के अधिकारियों और अंचल अधिकारियों को तत्काल आवश्यक कदम उठाने के निर्देश दिए। उन्होंने कहा कि कटाव रोकने के लिए युद्धस्तर पर कार्य शुरू किए जाएं ताकि जान-माल की क्षति को रोका जा सके। उन्होंने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिया कि वे कटाव से प्रभावित परिवारों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर स्थानांतरित करने और उन्हें हर संभव सहायता प्रदान करने की व्यवस्था करें।
विधायक ने यह भी आश्वासन दिया कि वे इस गंभीर मुद्दे को राज्य सरकार के समक्ष उठाएंगे और कटाव निरोधक कार्यों के लिए पर्याप्त धनराशि आवंटित कराने का प्रयास करेंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि यह सिर्फ एक प्राकृतिक आपदा नहीं, बल्कि हजारों लोगों के जीवन और आजीविका से जुड़ा एक गंभीर मुद्दा है, जिस पर तत्काल ध्यान देने की आवश्यकता है। क्षेत्र में कटाव के कारण लोगों में भय का माहौल है और वे सरकार से स्थायी समाधान की उम्मीद कर रहे हैं।
Kosi River erosion has intensified in the Mahishi block of Saharsa district, causing panic among residents. With the rising water level, the river's destructive force has become more pronounced, particularly in the lower areas of Kundah Panchayat. Following complaints from villagers, the local MLA visited the Kundah region on Tuesday to assess the situation.
The MLA interacted with residents in the erosion-affected areas, listening to their concerns. He noted that several acres of fertile land have already been lost to the Kosi River, and now residential areas are also under threat. Many homes and fields are on the verge of destruction due to the continuous erosion. Villagers urged the MLA to initiate anti-erosion measures immediately.
On the spot, the MLA instructed officials from the Water Resources Department and Circle Officers to take immediate necessary steps. He emphasized the need for war-footing efforts to prevent loss of life and property. He also directed officials to arrange for the relocation of affected families to safer places and provide them with all possible assistance.
The MLA assured that he would raise this serious issue with the state government and strive for adequate funds for anti-erosion work. He stressed that this is not just a natural disaster but a grave issue concerning the lives and livelihoods of thousands, requiring immediate attention. Fear grips the community due to erosion, and they expect a permanent solution from the government.
