Darbhanga, Bihar: The administration has intensified preparations for the Shravani Mela in Kusheshwarasthan Purvi. On Monday, SDO-cum-Kusheshwarasthan Trust Committee Chairman Shashank Raj and SDPO Prabhakar Tiwari inspected the Kusheshwarasthan market and the Baba Kusheshwarnath Shiva Temple complex. During the inspection, action was taken against a bus operator for illegally parking a bus on the roadside, resulting in a fine of Rs 500. Officials issued a strict warning to the bus operator and driver against parking buses inside the market in the future.

Despite the prohibition, a Darbhanga Kesari company bus was found parked on the roadside during the inspection. A fine of Rs 500 was levied on the operator for violating the rules. Officials warned the stand in-charge and driver that strict action would be taken if a bus was found parked in the market area again. SDO Shashank Raj stated that millions of devotees are expected to arrive during the Shravani Mela. Illegal bus operations and vehicle congestion on the road could lead to traffic jams, hence buses have been instructed to park only at designated locations.

The SDO, also the chairman of the trust committee, visited the Baba Kusheshwarnath Shiva Temple complex to review the mela preparations. He inspected the temple premises, Shivganga, entry and exit routes for devotees, barricading, cleanliness, drinking water, lighting arrangements, and the status of construction and repair works. Staff and laborers were instructed to complete all tasks within the stipulated time.

The administration announced that preparations for security, traffic control, crowd management, health facilities, sanitation, drinking water, temporary toilets, lighting, and parking are in their final stages. Coordination among various departments is being ensured to organize a safe and well-managed mela for devotees. The SDO directed concerned officials to regularly monitor all arrangements and ensure quality work, so that devotees face no inconvenience during the mela.
