A tragic incident occurred in Samastipur district where a laborer died due to electrocution while working on the roof of an under-construction house. The incident took place on Saturday in Bahadurpur locality, under the Nagar police station area. The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Ramkumar Rai, son of late Shambhu Rai, a resident of Rahimpur Rudauli under Muffasil police station.

According to information, Ramkumar Rai was working on the roof of a house under construction in the Bahadurpur locality. During his work, he came into contact with an 11,000-volt power line passing directly over the house. The electric shock was severe, causing Ramkumar to be badly burnt and resulting in his death on the spot.

Upon receiving news of the incident, a crowd gathered, and the victim's family members also arrived, deeply distraught. The family has blamed the electricity department for the incident, citing the unsafe passage of high-tension wires over a residential area without adequate safety measures.

The Nagar police station was informed, and a police team arrived at the scene. They took the body into custody and sent it to Samastipur Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter. This incident has once again raised serious concerns about the unsafe condition of power lines in urban areas and the resulting accidents. The family has demanded compensation from the administration and action against those responsible.
