Lakhisarai police have taken significant action against the sale and purchase of illicit drugs in the district. In two separate operations, police recovered a total of 35.73 grams of suspected smack powder and arrested four individuals.

The first operation took place in Pratappur village, under the Barahiya police station jurisdiction. SDPO Shivam Kumar stated that on Sunday, Barahiya police received a tip-off about the sale and purchase of smack in Pratappur village. Based on this information, a police team, in the presence of the Barahiya Circle Officer, raided the village. During the raid, two suspects were apprehended with the illicit powder.

Following interrogation of the suspects arrested from Pratappur, police gathered information about the presence of drugs at a shop located in Ashokdham, under the Town police station area. Subsequently, a second raid was conducted at the shop in Ashokdham, where two more suspects were arrested, and the remaining suspected smack powder was recovered. Police have affirmed that the campaign against narcotics will continue, and other individuals involved will be identified and acted upon.
