Signal wires were stolen on the Lakhisarai-Barh rail section of the Danapur Railway Division on Monday night, disrupting up-line rail services. The incident occurred near the home signal of Tal Junction, where thieves cut copper wires, leading to a complete failure of the signaling system. This act of theft affected several trains heading towards Patna, including the 22347 Vande Bharat Express and Jan Shatabdi Express. Trains were being operated manually, and the system was expected to be fully restored by Tuesday.

This marks the second such incident within two days. On Monday night, around 9:30 PM, the cutting of signal wires at Tal Junction brought the signaling system to a halt. Previously, on the night of July 24, wires were also cut near the up outer signal on the Hathidah-Mokama rail section near Mokama, causing a rail disruption for about an hour. That incident also impacted several key trains, including the Vande Bharat Express, Howrah-Patna Jan Shatabdi Express, Howrah-Haridwar Express, and Sahebganj Intercity.

Railway authorities have launched an investigation into the current incident. RPF and relevant departmental teams are on-site, examining the causes of the wire theft and any security lapses. Such incidents are causing significant inconvenience to rail passengers and raising concerns about railway security.
