Lakhisarai: A violent clash erupted between two factions over a field boundary (medh) in the Bahiyar area of Garhi Bishanpur village, under the Nagar police station jurisdiction in Lakhisarai, on Sunday. More than seven people from both sides sustained serious injuries in the dispute and have been admitted to Lakhisarai Sadar Hospital for treatment.

The injured from one side include Bhola Yadav, Lochan Yadav, and Mahesh Yadav, while Krishna Yadav, Nathuni Yadav, and Birju Yadav were injured from the other side. The identities of other injured individuals are being ascertained. All are currently receiving medical attention under the supervision of doctors at the Sadar Hospital.

According to local residents, a minor verbal altercation over the field's boundary escalated quickly into a physical fight. Individuals from both sides attacked each other with spades (kudal) and sticks, resulting in severe head and body injuries for many.

The Nagar police station was informed of the incident and has since initiated an investigation. Police are probing the actual causes of the dispute and the roles of those involved in the altercation. Authorities stated that appropriate legal action would be taken upon receiving a formal complaint. A pre-existing dispute over land and field boundaries between the two factions had been ongoing in the village. Following the incident, a tense atmosphere prevails in the village, and the police are continuously monitoring the situation to prevent any further untoward incidents.
