The ambitious 'Har Ghar Nal-Jal Yojana' (Tap Water to Every Household Scheme) in Gobardaha Korasi village, under Kunder Panchayat in Chanan block of Lakhisarai district, remains incomplete due to departmental neglect. In this small village of about 30-40 households, pipes have been laid to deliver water, but the work for boring, water storage tanks, and towers has not been completed.

Due to the negligence of officials, tap water supply to villagers' homes has not started. The taps installed under the scheme are dry, while some influential individuals are using the boring water for agricultural irrigation. This has left the needy villagers facing a severe drinking water crisis.

Women and girls in the village are dependent on the only well for water, increasing the risk of diseases from consuming contaminated water. Villagers are deeply frustrated with the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED). Attempts to contact the PHED's Junior Engineer for comment were unsuccessful as he did not answer his phone.

Taking cognizance of the matter, Chanan Block Development Officer (BDO) Shravan Kumar Pandey stated that the current status of the Nal-Jal scheme in the village would be investigated. If incomplete work or irregularities are found, action will be taken against the concerned officials and contractors to ensure prompt rectification.
