A case has been registered against 31 named individuals and over 150 unidentified persons for allegedly attempting to illegally seize land belonging to an tribal family near Gerua Chowk in Mohini Panchayat, under the Kasba police station area of Purnia district. Rekha Devi and Uma Devi, residents of Gerua Chowk, Betauna, filed the complaint at Kasba police station.

In their application, the victims stated that a total of 5 acres and 61 decimal land, comprising 1.24 acres from Khata No. 62 and 4.37 acres from Khata No. 58 in Mauja Betauna, has been registered in their family's name since their ancestors' time. They further mentioned that the land's Jamabandi (land record) is also in their family's name, and they regularly pay land revenue.

According to the complaint, late on September 31st, around 120 to 150 people arrived at the land with tractors and weapons, attempting to erect a tin shed and forcibly occupy the property. When the women resisted, they were verbally abused, assaulted, and mistreated. Upon receiving information, the police reached the spot, causing all the accused to flee.

Kasba Station House Officer Gyan Ranjan confirmed that an FIR has been lodged against 31 named individuals and approximately 150 others in connection with the incident. The police are thoroughly investigating the matter, and raids are being conducted to apprehend the accused.
