Banka district has witnessed a tragic turn of events as two separate lightning strikes claimed the lives of a laborer and a student in the Dhoraiya and Katoria blocks, respectively. These incidents have cast a pall of grief over the region and prompted local authorities to issue warnings.

The first incident occurred in Dhoraiya block, where a laborer was struck by lightning. According to reports, the laborer was either working in his field or in an open area when the weather suddenly deteriorated, leading to the fatal lightning strike. Although people nearby tried to rush him to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries en route. The untimely death of the student has left his family and friends in profound shock.
