The Lohiya Swachh Bihar Abhiyan (LSBA) office in Kusheshwarsthan Purvi block of Darbhanga district has been operating without a regular executive for the past month. Despite government orders, this situation persists, causing significant inconvenience to the scheme's beneficiaries. People arriving at the block office for toilet construction and other related works are returning disappointed.

According to District Magistrate's letter no. 231/SBMG, dated June 27, 2026, Rishabh Kumar was transferred to Kusheshwarsthan Purvi block as the Executive of Lohiya Swachh Bihar Abhiyan. However, a month has passed, and he has not yet joined. Previously, Nitesh Kumar held this position, and since his transfer, most of the work related to the Swachh Bharat Mission has been affected.

Beneficiaries applying for the toilet scheme have expressed their difficulties. They state that only applications are being submitted at the office, but no further action is being taken. Due to the office being closed multiple times, people are repeatedly forced to visit the block office.

Regarding this matter, Block Development Officer (BDO) Prabha Shankar Mishra provided information. He stated that Rishabh Kumar was sent to join here, but he has not yet taken charge. Given the current situation, Sanitation Supervisor Pankaj Kumar Mishra has been deputed to receive beneficiary applications for the time being.

However, local residents argue that merely submitting applications will not solve the problem. They contend that without a permanent executive, payments, verification, and other crucial administrative processes will remain affected. People have urged the district administration to ensure the immediate joining of the executive so that pending works under the Lohiya Swachh Bihar Abhiyan can be expedited and beneficiaries can be saved from unnecessary trouble.
