A dispute over water drainage escalated into a violent confrontation between two groups in Madhepur village, under the Madhepur police station area in Madhubani district. The brawl resulted in a total of 21 people, including 7 women, sustaining serious injuries. Three of the injured are reported to be in critical condition and have been referred for advanced medical treatment.

The incident, which occurred in Madhepur village, began as a minor altercation between two neighboring families regarding the flow of water. The argument quickly escalated, with individuals from both sides resorting to sticks, rods, and sharp weapons. This violent clash left many severely wounded.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Madhepur police promptly arrived at the scene to bring the situation under control. Police immediately transported the injured to the local Community Health Center (CHC) for first aid. The three critically injured individuals, whose identities are yet to be fully confirmed, have been referred to the district hospital for further treatment. The remaining injured are receiving care at the local CHC.

According to the police, the process of filing First Information Reports (FIRs) from both sides is underway. Additional police forces have been deployed in the village to maintain peace and order. Local residents indicated that there had been long-standing animosity between the two families over water drainage issues, which finally erupted into violence. Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter and have assured strict action against those responsible.
