A shocking incident of fratricide followed by suicide has been reported from Alamnagar block in Madhepura district, Bihar. An elder brother allegedly shot and killed his younger brother before taking his own life. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community.

The tragic event occurred on Thursday in Basnahi village, under the Ratwara Panchayat of Alamnagar police station area. According to reports, the elder brother, Sanjay Yadav (50), shot his younger brother, Anil Yadav (45), dead. After committing the murder, Sanjay Yadav then shot himself, resulting in his instantaneous death. The sudden demise of both brothers has plunged the family into deep mourning.

Local residents suggest that a long-standing property dispute between the two brothers might be the motive behind this horrific act. Several attempts were made by the community to resolve their differences through local panchayats, but no amicable solution was reached. It is suspected that this unresolved dispute escalated to such an extent that it led to this extreme violence.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Alamnagar police immediately rushed to the scene. They have taken possession of both bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination to the Sadar Hospital. The weapon used in the crime has also been recovered from the site. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and other senior officials visited the spot to gather more information. Police stated that initial investigations point towards a family dispute, but all angles are being thoroughly investigated. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over Basnahi village, leaving residents in shock.
