The Madhepura administration has intensified its preparations to ensure a peaceful and safe Durga Puja and Ravana Dahan celebration. A peace committee meeting was held on Wednesday at the Sadar Police Station premises, attended by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), other police officials, representatives of various puja committees, and prominent citizens.

During the meeting, essential guidelines were issued regarding security arrangements, traffic control, and maintaining law and order. The administration explicitly stated that there would be a complete ban on DJs during Durga Puja. Furthermore, strict action will be taken against those involved in triple riding, driving without helmets, and any form of hooliganism.

Sadar SDM Santosh Kumar informed that representatives of the puja committees presented their issues and suggestions, to which the administration assured resolution. Puja committees were also advised to increase their volunteer count and install CCTV cameras in pandals. He expressed confidence that with mutual cooperation between the administration and puja committees, Durga Puja would be celebrated peacefully this year as well. The SDM reiterated that the ban on DJs would remain in effect, and strict action would be taken against rule violators.

Sadar SDPO Ajay Kumar stated that meetings have been held with puja committees and dignitaries in all puja areas under the Sadar Police Station jurisdiction. Police officers and magistrates will be deployed at all puja venues for security. He also mentioned that anti-social elements have been identified, and action against them has begun, which will continue from the puja period until immersion. Special vigilance will be maintained in crowded areas, puja pandals, and at the Ravana Dahan site. The SDPO warned that triple riders would be fined under the Motor Vehicle Act, and action would also be taken against those driving without helmets. The administration has appealed to the city residents to celebrate the festival in a peaceful environment and urged puja committees to adhere to the prescribed rules.
