A massive fire broke out on Monday evening near the old Tehsil Kacheri, located on the border of Ward 7 and 8 of Madhepura Nagar Parishad area. The fire originated from a short circuit in Ajay Das's house and quickly escalated. Amidst the flames, an LPG cylinder inside the house exploded with a loud bang, causing the fire to spread rapidly to nearby residences.

As a result of this devastating fire, four houses belonging to Ajay Das, Arvind Yadav, Sarvind Yadav, and Bhim Das were completely gutted. Furniture, clothes, grains, household items, and all other belongings kept in these houses were reduced to ashes. The intensity of the fire caused panic in the area, prompting residents to evacuate their homes.

Local residents attempted to extinguish the fire, but the fierce flames prevented them from succeeding. Upon receiving information, several fire tenders from the fire department rushed to the scene. Firefighters, with the help of locals, managed to bring the blaze under control after considerable effort, preventing it from spreading to other houses.

According to local resident Arvind Yadav, the preliminary cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit. No one was present in Ajay Das's house at the time of the incident. The cylinder explosion further intensified the fire. Fortunately, there are no reports of casualties, but property worth lakhs of rupees is estimated to have been lost. The administration is currently assessing the extent of the damage.
