In a significant operation, the Excise Department team in Madhubani district has seized 1188 liters of Nepali liquor. The illicit alcohol was recovered from two Scorpio vehicles. However, upon seeing the department's team, the liquor smugglers managed to escape from the scene. This incident highlights the proactive efforts of the Excise Department in enforcing the prohibition law in the district.

According to information received, the Excise Department had received a tip-off that a large quantity of Nepali liquor was being smuggled in two Scorpio vehicles. Acting swiftly on the intelligence, the Excise Department team planned a raid at the specified location. The team set up a blockade on the identified route and began searching for vehicles.

During the raid, the team intercepted two suspicious Scorpio vehicles. As soon as the Excise Department officials approached the vehicles, the smugglers realized the situation and took advantage of the opportunity to flee. Officials immediately searched the vehicles and found a large quantity of Nepali brand liquor bottles. The total quantity of seized liquor is reported to be 1188 liters.

Excise Department officials stated that the seized liquor is worth lakhs of rupees. Both Scorpio vehicles have also been confiscated. An investigation has been launched to identify the absconding smugglers, and raids are being conducted for their arrest. This incident makes it clear that despite prohibition in Bihar, liquor smuggling from neighboring Nepal remains a major challenge, which the Excise Department is continuously striving to curb.
