A shocking incident has emerged from Madhubani district, Bihar, where angry protesters grabbed the collar of District Magistrate (DM) Anand Sharma and misbehaved with him. The incident occurred after one person died and three others were injured in police firing in the Babubarhi area, allegedly by an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Chandramohan Singh stationed at a police picket.

The local population's anger flared up following the incident, leading them to block a road in Khojpur. DM Anand Sharma and SP Yogendra Kumar arrived at the scene to negotiate and clear the blockade. Despite appeals for peace from the officials, the agitated crowd, particularly some women, became uncontrollable. During this volatile situation, several women grabbed DM Sharma's collar and shoved him.

Security personnel and some villagers intervened to safely extract the DM from the mob. A video of the entire incident shows the DM patiently trying to reason with the crowd while the protesters grew increasingly aggressive.

ASI Chandramohan Singh is accused of firing his service revolver late last night, injuring four people and killing one. The incident has caused significant tension in the area, with locals demanding strict action against the accused police officer. Police have announced a reward of 25,000 rupees for the absconding ASI and have formed five teams to search for him.

DM Anand Sharma, a 2013 batch IAS officer, is known for his humility and administrative prowess. He chose to join the civil services after leaving an engineering job in Germany. He has previously served as DM in districts like Saharsa and Munger and is recognized for his contributions to education and rural development.
