In a significant operation along the Indo-Nepal border in Madhubani district's Harlakhi police station area, personnel from the 48th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Pipraun Camp, seized 2550 bottles of Nepali liquor during a patrol. A Nepali smuggler, identified as Amit Kumar from Phulagamma village in Nepal, was also arrested in connection with the seizure. The SSB handed over the seized liquor, a four-wheeler, and the arrested smuggler to the Harlakhi police station for further legal action.

According to information received, the SSB acted on a tip-off and formed a blockade party. The team set up a checkpoint near pillar number 284/10, close to culvert number two. During the blockade, jawans observed a person accumulating sacks of liquor on his head at one spot. He was preparing to load all the liquor sacks into a four-wheeler when the SSB personnel apprehended him on the spot.

Harlakhi Station House Officer (SHO) Ranjit Kumar stated that the arrested smuggler, Amit Kumar, has been sent to judicial custody. This action marks a crucial step in curbing liquor smuggling activities across the border.
