Madhubani, Legal Correspondent. The way has been cleared for the construction of new court buildings in Madhubani district, along with Jainagar and Phulparas sub-divisions. District Magistrate Anand Sharma provided this information during a district-level monitoring committee meeting held on Saturday evening, chaired by Principal District and Sessions Judge Pawan Kumar Pandey. Responding to a proposal by Sub-Judge Sandeep Chaitanya, who was conducting the meeting, the DM stated that the notification process for the construction of the district court building in Ranti, adjacent to the city, and sub-divisional court buildings in Jainagar and Phulparas has been completed. Further action towards court construction will now proceed rapidly.

The meeting also discussed proposals related to security and facilities for prisoners in the Mandal Jail and Benipatti Sub-Jail, for which the DM directed the concerned departments to take swift action. Approximately 10 acres of land have been identified for the district court in Ranti, while 6 acres each have been earmarked for the Jainagar and Phulparas sub-divisional courts.

Attendees at the meeting included Principal Judge Jai Kishor Dubey, SC-ST Act Special Judge Rachna Raj, CJM PK Mahatha, Authority Secretary Sachin Kumar, SDJM Sudha Rani, ASP Rashmi, Civil Surgeon Dr. Harendra Kumar, District Bar Association President Vasudev Jha, General Secretary Shivnath Chaudhary, and others.

During the meeting, Public Prosecutors Shiv Shankar Prasad Rai, Special Public Prosecutors Dhirendra Kumar Mishra, Madhu Rani, and Poonam Kumari raised concerns about witnesses not appearing during trials. The issue of police personnel and doctors not appearing for testimony was also brought up. Prosecution lawyers questioned the unavailability of case diaries and injury reports. In response, the Principal District Judge and DM issued necessary directives to the ASP and Civil Surgeon.
