The main road connecting Kotwali Chowk to Pandaul in Madhubani district has fallen into a severe state of disrepair. Continuous soil erosion and deep potholes along the stretch are leading to daily accidents. The negligence of the local administration and the concerned construction department has made the journey from Dumanta to Tetrahapul, Tetrahachowk to Hati, and Mohanpur to Pandaul extremely perilous for commuters.

This road is considered the lifeline of the entire region, with thousands of people using it daily to reach the district headquarters and other major markets. For some time now, soil along the road near the bridge has been continuously eroding, weakening the road's foundation. In many places, a significant portion of the road has completely caved in. Deep potholes, several feet deep, are causing both heavy and light vehicles to lose balance. Especially at night, due to inadequate lighting, the road appears to be an invitation to major accidents.

Conditions are so poor in various sections of the road that navigating it is a significant challenge. Near the bridge, soil is eroding rapidly, creating large pits and posing a constant risk of heavy vehicles overturning. On this highly busy commercial route, two-wheeler riders frequently lose control and fall. Vehicles are colliding with each other in attempts to avoid the potholes. The asphalt surface has completely disappeared along this entire stretch, leaving behind only sharp stones and dust, causing injuries to commuters daily.
