पुलिस ने इस मामले में त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए दो महिलाओं को हिरासत में लिया है। उनसे पूछताछ की जा रही है ताकि घटना के पीछे के वास्तविक कारणों और अन्य संलिप्त व्यक्तियों का पता लगाया जा सके। सदर अस्पताल में पोस्टमार्टम के बाद शव परिजनों को सौंप दिया गया है। परिजनों का रो-रोकर बुरा हाल है। वे दोषियों के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई की मांग कर रहे हैं।
पुलिस अधीक्षक ने बताया कि मामले की गंभीरता को देखते हुए एक विशेष जांच दल का गठन किया गया है। टीम सभी पहलुओं से जांच कर रही है और जल्द ही अन्य आरोपियों को भी गिरफ्तार कर लिया जाएगा। इलाके में तनाव को देखते हुए अतिरिक्त पुलिस बल तैनात किया गया है ताकि किसी भी अप्रिय घटना को रोका जा सके। इस घटना ने एक बार फिर बिहार में जमीनी विवादों के बढ़ते मामलों और उनके हिंसक परिणामों को उजागर किया है।
