Madhubani district has launched an online system for holding tax payments, aiming to provide greater convenience to its citizens. The new system was inaugurated on Tuesday by District Magistrate (DM) Anand Sharma. This initiative will allow residents within the Madhubani Municipal Corporation area to pay their holding tax from the comfort of their homes, saving both time and effort.

During the inauguration, DM Anand Sharma emphasized the importance of this online system. He stated that it offers significant relief to urban dwellers, as they will no longer need to visit the municipal office to deposit their taxes. This move aligns with the government's Digital India campaign, marking a crucial step towards enhancing transparency and making services more accessible.

Under this online system, taxpayers can view their holding tax details on the municipal corporation's website and make secure online payments using various digital methods such as net banking, credit cards, and debit cards. Upon successful payment, taxpayers will instantly receive an online receipt.

Municipal corporation officials confirmed that all necessary preparations have been completed for the smooth operation of this system. Employees have also been trained to assist citizens with any queries. This initiative is expected to not only benefit citizens but also improve the efficiency of revenue collection and increase transparency in the municipal processes. It is anticipated that a growing number of people will utilize this online facility in the future.
